Snake lyophilized powder is processed by professional freeze-drying equipment after collecting venom of snakes, and then used to process Chinese herbal medicines and used in Chinese medicine factory.
Method for making venom freeze-dried powder:
1. Extraction of snake venom
Prepare a series of preparations before taking the poison. Check whether the mechanical equipment is in good condition, installation, and debugging. Three days before taking the poison, let the snake drink water to enrich the water in the snake body and, if necessary, spray water on the snake body. Observe that all the snakes are resting, and when they are in a sleep state, they can start to take poison. They should be classified in batches and classified.
2, the processing of snake venom
The venom taken out should be stored at a low temperature in time, and should not be more than 1 hour at normal temperature. Generally, the site to be poisoned should be close to the refrigerator. Filtration of the obtained snake venom is a fundamental problem in ensuring the quality of snake venom.
In the first step, the filtration is to remove the impurities, to obtain a clear liquid, to freeze, and to form an ice cube and then to dry.
In the second step, the frozen snake venom ice cubes are placed in a vacuum desiccator, vacuum dried, and vacuum drying is generally completed in 6 hours.
The dried snake venom is in powder or block form, the five-step snake venom is white powder, and the cobra venom is light yellow powder. After drying, the water content of snake venom should not exceed 5%. Such venom is the refined lyophilized powder of snake venom. The lyophilized snake venom is relatively simple to store, placed in a sealed glass bottle, and stored in a refrigerator freezer. The shelf life is generally 10-20 years.
Snake poison drying precautions
In order to avoid the powder flying to pollute the snake venom during pumping; a granular desiccant such as phosphorus pentoxide or anhydrous calcium chloride is generally used, and a layer of gauze is laid on the desiccant. Attention must be paid to the observation of the venom evaporation in the container during the pumping process.
