Freeze drying is simply a method of preserving the food by extracting all of the water from a food source and then drying it. Freeze drying preserves all of the nutrients in the food because the process only removes the water. Essentially, you are eating the same Exact food except in a different form.


Freeze dried food can be eaten in the dried form or you can easily rehydrate the food for the original flavor and texture. In my experience, most foods will rehydrate fairly well. I've freeze dried spaghetti and even whole meals before and they surprisingly taste The same once you reintroduce the water.


I have experienced foods dried using different machines and there is a huge difference in quality depending on how advanced the machine is. The SCIENTZ Freeze Dryer is probably the best machine for preserving nutrients and doing things right the first time.
