The MGC-800 Series Microplate Reader for Microorganisms is an automated system developed for continuous monitoring of microbial growth behavior in real time. It supports experiments conducted under different incubation temperatures, culture medium formulations, and light conditions, while automatically recording growth data and generating corresponding growth curves for microbial analysis and research.

 

The entire testing process can be completed without continuous manual supervision or repeated sample collection. By reducing direct intervention during the experiment, the system helps minimize contamination risks, lowers routine labor requirements, and improves overall experimental efficiency.

 

Escherichia coli is one of the most common microor- ganisms in the laboratory. It is a Gram-negative short bacillus with a size of 0.5 × 1-3 μm. It has perinatal flagella, can move, and has no spores. Fission yeast is a typical biological model of cell division and is widely used in cell biology research. It is 4~5×8~15μm in size, easy to settle, and requires a high speed to mix. Lactobacillus rhamnosus is an anaerobic, acid-resistant, non-spore-forming Gram-positive probiotic with a size of 0.8~1.0×2~4μm. It is usually cultured statically and easy to aggregate and low-speed rotational culture in MGC-200 can avoid agglomeration.

Equipped with a xenon lamp featuring high energy output, stable performance, and a long service life. It requires no preheating, enabling fast and sensitive detection while reducing the need for frequent light-source replacement. The single-well multi-point detection method collects data from multiple positions within each well, providing greater measurement accuracy and repeatability compared with conventional center-point detection. With a maximum shaking speed of 1250 rpm, the system promotes thorough mixing even with small liquid volumes and supports effective shaking culture of microorganisms in 96-well plates. Two culture plate positions accommodate various adapters and support microplates in different specifications, allowing up to 192 samples to be processed simultaneously.
