Working Principle
Electroporatio n, also known as cellular elect roporation,is a key metho d for intro ducing exogenous macromolecules like DNA, RNA, SiRNA and proteins, as well as small molecules, into celks.Under the influence ofa transient strong electric field, thecel membrane becomes permeable, allowingcharged exogenous substances toenter the cellin a manner similar to electro phoresis. Dueto the high resistance of thecellmembrane's phospholipid bilayer,the voltage acrosthe cell is mostly bore by the membrane, with minimal voltagein thecyto plasm. This leads to negligible cytotoxicity during electro porationunder normal conditions, Once bNA or other substances pass through the membrane, they stay nearthe membrane before the celf' s m echanisms transport them to the nucleus or other parts of the cell.
