Constant temperature medium


At present, the medium used in the constant temperature bath is roughly alcohol, water, antifreeze, edible oil, silicone oil, cylinder oil, and the like. Water is the cheapest medium, usually in the range of 5 ~ 95 ° C, but can not cover the most commonly used 0 ° C, and more thermostats use antifreeze instead of water.


According to the study, the frozen liquid and water were mixed at a ratio of 1:1, and the performance was still normal at -30 °C. The surface temperature field of the tank is related to room temperature and the amount of evaporation of the medium. According to the reference 3, the surface tension of pure antifreeze under normal pressure is 46. 49 mN / m (while the surface tension of pure water is 0. 728 mN / m (20 ° C), the antifreeze and hydration will greatly increase the surface tension of water, resulting in The molecular cohesion is increased, so that the evaporation is less than pure water, so its vertical temperature field is better than pure water.


This performance is especially noticeable for the jet structure thermostat. The author conducted a related experiment using vertical water and 15 kK and 32 mK of pure water and antifreeze (mixed with water and antifreeze 1:1). When the constant temperature medium evaporates, it is necessary to cover the groove surface to improve the vertical temperature field. The author conducted a related experiment on a thermostatic bath (98 °C) of a certain jet structure. The results show that the vertical uniformity is 12 mK and the undulation is 8 mK when the groove surface covers the field; the vertical uniformity is 28 mK when there is no cover. The volatility is 12 mK.


It can be seen that the effect of no covering is considerable. This requires attention in cases where some of the grooves cannot be covered for inspection.


At high temperatures, choosing a working medium with a small evaporation can reduce this effect. Low viscosity silicone oil is an option. The author used a low-viscosity silicone oil as a medium experiment in a constant temperature tank of a manufacturer. The results showed that the vertical matter uniformity was 4 mK at -30 °C and the volatility was 12 mK. At 100 ° C, the vertical uniformity was 2 mK. The sex is 5 mK.


Edible oil is also an inexpensive heat transfer medium and is widely used in the working range of 100 ~ 200 °C. However, after the electric heating wire is energized, the temperature is very high, and the edible oil is easily carbonized to form viscous particles, which are entangled on the heating wire to deteriorate the thermal conductivity and reduce the temperature stability of the groove. More importantly, the insulation resistance between the heating wires is lowered, resulting in unsafe. Therefore, it is recommended to use silicone oil in the working range of 100 ~ 300 °C and replace it periodically.
